I am blessed to live in California. The weather for the most part. Not the rent prices. California has many beautiful climates, so much scenery. I can appreciate that within one day I can see beaches, mountains, cities, and deserts. I decided a long time ago I would start to do my part in helping maintain our beautiful state. I started small by recycling. I started to watch how long my showers were and turning off the water when I wasn’t using it. I picked up trash I would see and throw it away. I began watching a lot of videos on the zero waste life. It seemed interesting and complicated and overwhelming, but also easy for the people who were making the videos. I remember watching one video where this woman was able to use her own container to buy loose eggs. Where do they do that at? Not around my neighborhood. Nevertheless, it seemed appealing. I was intrigued on how to live this life in the city. I want a more conscious living experience. I decided it was time to make that happen.
Now that I live on my own, I am starting to implement systems so I can live a less waste life. This goes for more than just grocery shopping, though packaging is a large part of the landfill issue. From household items to beauty and self-care, I am doing a slow overhaul of my life. Over the next few months, I will be sharing the changes I am actively making to ensure I am protecting our beauty Mother Earth.
These new lifestyle choices will take some adjustment on my part. It will force me to remember items and not be lazy. It will force me to live with intention- something I struggle with in other areas on my life. With this new lifestyle change, I will be doing my part to ensure we can all continue this worlds’ beauty and that my life is on a healthier path. It is my hope that through this series, I will inspire you to make changes to your own life and find it as fun and satisfying as I do.
In my next post, I will be sharing my grocery store tips and hacks. It’s easier than you think with a little preparation.
Can’t wait to share this journey with you.
xoxo, Panda
